The funeral service of Lonnie Davis, 85, of Sasser, GA, who died Friday April 2, 2010 at his residence will be conducted Monday April 5, 2010 at Mathews Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Wesley Kaylor, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

 

A native of Terrell Co., Georgia, Mr. Davis had resided in Terrell Co. most all of his life. He was retired from Oakland Plantation and was a member of the Sasser United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Florene Hawke Davis and a daughter, Jean Smith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Tedford Davis, Sasser, GA, three daughters, Sandra Tyson ( Gary ), Fayetteville, GA, Pat Cross and Peggy Griffin ( Jasper ) all of Albany, GA, a sister, Mae Thomas, Moultrie, GA, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and  nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
